Securian Financial, St. Paul, announced it has awarded $10,000 to Checkable Medical, a Minneapolis-based startup, as the 2020 winner of a Securian Financial-sponsored award for innovators working to improve the lives of families. The award, launched in 2016, is part of MN Cup, an annual statewide startup competition.


Greystone Construction Co., Shakopee, announced the following promotions: Gordie Schmitz to president; Eric Bender, vice president of Construction Operations; Brian Kreuser, vice president of Construction Execution, and Colin O’Brien, vice president of Business Development. All four have become partners in the company.


Minneapolis-based Ryan Cos. has announced the hiring of Debra Altschuler as senior attorney – real estate development/vice president, and the promotions of Paul Almen and Audra Williams, both to associate general counsel.


Donaldson Co., Inc., a Bloomington-based maker of filtration systems for industry, announced that it and members of the company’s corporate tutor team delivered 200 laptops to Prodeo Academy, a network of tuition-free preparatory schools in the Twin Cities metro area. … The Toro Co., Bloomington, and The Hoffman Family Foundation have joined together to honor former Toro Chairman and CEO Ken Melrose, who passed away in May, with a four-year gift commitment to the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, creating a $3 million endowment.


Minnesota Community Care, St. Paul, announced the appointment of Cindy Nelson Kaigama as director of innovation and learning, and Rubén Vázquez Ruiz as director of equity and inclusion. Minnesota Community Care is a federally qualified health center serving the health needs of the underserved, reporting up to 38,000 clients.


Chanhassen-based market research company IWCO Direct announced that Stephen Flood has joined the company as executive vice president–sales, and Sherri Bonacci as senior vice president of supply chain and competitive improvement planning.


Bio-Techne Corp., a Minneapolis-based holding company for suppliers of biochemical agents and proteins, announced the appointment of Julie L. Bushman to the company’s board of directors. Bushman is the former executive vice president of International Operations for 3M and also serves as a director of Adient PLC, Phillips 66 and the Regions Hospital Foundation in St. Paul. … ANI Pharmaceuticals, a Baudette, Minn.-based maker of generic drugs, announced that Nikhil Lalwani has been named president and chief executive officer succeeding Patrick D. Walsh, who remains chairman of the board.


Valentin Huerta, of Weichert, Realtors-Advantage in Wayzata and Woodbury, was awarded the national Graduate Realtor Institute designation.


St. Paul-based Ecolab Inc., a provider of water, hygiene and infection prevention products and services for business, announced it has renewed its partnership with the American Hotel & Lodging Association. The company also announced that it ranked No. 22 overall and No. 1 in the chemicals industry on the 2021 Just 100 list, developed by Forbes and Just Capital.


Barbara A. Nick, retired president and CEO of Dairyland Power Cooperative, Baldwin, Wis., has joined Allete’s board of directors. Allete is a power utility based in Duluth.
