Cathedral of Saint Paul will host free organ concert March 14

6March 2021

The choirmaster and organist of the Cathedral of Saint Paul will host an in-person organ concert at 3 p.m. on March 14. The cathedral will follow social distancing and mask requirement. It will also be live-streamed online.

Christopher Ganza will perform Charles-Marie Widor’s 6th symphony for organ on the Cathedral’s esteemed E.M. Skinner and Æolian-Skinner pipe organs in honor of the “Laetare (rejoice) Sunday,” the fourth Sunday in the season of Lent.

The symphonic number celebrates the movement from darkness into light, mirroring the upcoming Easter celebration on April 4, according to a cathedral news release. Free parking is available in the Selby lots, or there’s on-street parking near the Cathedral.

The concert will be streamed online at cathedralsaintpaul.org.
