We had cakes and some drinks on a Saturday evening. The service was good. The cake slices we had definitely didn't taste good. The velvet cake had a weird truffle oil like smell to it that didn't really work. The chocolate cake was so hard, it felt like eating bar candy. Maybe their whole fresh cakes taste good. But I wouldn't recommend their cake slices off the counter. We were disappointed.
they have great products and a very convenient set up! I think they intentionally hire youngsters that don't know any better and won't give them much push back. One of the employees I encountered didn't turn the screen around for me to select from the tip menu on the electric register. when I asked why the person didn't turn the screen around, the person said they don't know if people want to tip or not so they don't ask. It's not an ask. Just automatically turn the screen around. If the person doesn't want to tip they can hit no tip on their own. Hiring inexperienced people that don't know how to stand up for themselves is a toxic employer tactic, on its own. And before you say they should "get a real job", consider that if they didn't work there you wouldn't be able to get the baked goods. So what part of their job isn't real? An economy doesn't operate off of any fake jobs. If you can get one cupcake for $5, you can tip.
Their pastries are the best and donuts are amazing! I am very finicky about my croissants but they have a crisp exterior with a pillowy swirled center-- absolutely perfect! I've only been there during the pandemic so they really moved people through the store quickly. It detracted from the experience as I really love perusing the options but overall a fantastic place.
This shop was super cute, and the staff was really nice. I thought all the desserts looked really good. I didn’t care for the salted caramel or dark chocolate cupcake, the snickerdoodle, the triple chocolate, or peanut butter chocolate cookies. I REALLY liked the tea cookie, and the oatmeal cookie.
Love it here. Friendly quick staff. Portions are huge tasty classics for a really reasonable price. You need the mankato buttercake. They take cards now with a $5 minimum! It used to be cash only. Also, they make the ice cubes for the iced coffee out of coffee. Genius. No watery cold press at the bottom of your cup. Update: went back for the first time in a while. They don't make the cold press ice cubes out of coffee anymore and also they used to let you put your own cream and sugar in your coffee and now they don't. Donuts are still the best in town though.
