Excellent community and caring staff. One of the best complexes I have ever lived in. Affordable for the amenities and location, and the staff makes you feel welcome and like you are a part of their community. I never had an issue with package theft, I could barely hear my neighbors, and the hallways and frequented areas are always clean. Big recommend!
I should have written this a year ago, however this would have been a 5 star review before last year. Kathryn and Annie were the property managers when we first moved in back in 2016, at the Plymouth location, and we had no problems until last year when we were letting them know a month and a half prior to moving out. It was plenty of notice; however the newer property manager, Nathaly, was insistent we had to give a 60 day notice instead of a 30 day. We had given 45 days notice and she was insistent that we sign paperwork stating we'd pay 75% of the next month's rent within a certain period of time so we didn't have to pay more. We found out later (after speaking with an attorney's assistant) that was something she said just to get us to hurry up and sign it so they could make money. It was 1 day after their halfway mark and I pointed that out and asked them to let us do 50% of the next month's rent since we were buying a house and it was during the Covid PANDEMIC. Yes, during a pandemic. She told me there was nothing they could do. What felt like a slap in the face at the time too was they gave everyone a pizza kit for Covid. I would have much rather had them take that off what we supposedly owed. I found out after we moved, per the lease agreement, for the first YEAR only, so ending in 2017 we had to give 2 months notice. After that date (I have attached the picture of our lease) after the highlighted date we were told by Kathryn we were on a month to month lease. They also tried to con us into paying more after we moved by emailing to ask for an address to send the security deposit to. Well we ended up getting something in the mail asking to pay more! Also, we saw 0 of our original security deposit as that was used towards part of our 75% since we didn't have the money to pay it. At the time I didn't know that they couldn't charge us for cleaning carpets so I borrowed a carpet cleaner and attempted to clean them myself. They were very rude with the mailed inspection sheet stating it was damaged and apparently couldn't even tell an attempt to cleaning the carpets was made. We also had a bug problem with the lower level and I would find dead bug carcasses in dishes, boxes of macaroni and cheese, and our cat food. We didn't tell them because we tried to take care of it ourselves and didn't want to have to find somewhere to stay temporarily if there was an exterminator sent in. It was maybe something we tried to deal with about the last 6 months to a year of being there. Hopefully the new renters do not have an issue with it. Overall this an awful place to deal with when moving out, I liked living there until the management changed. The only star given was because Kathryn and Annie were so great and maintenance was pretty fast at fixing things.
When I was in search of an apartment (while across the country) Louise was the one who was more than helpful in finding me something within my timeline and budget. When I moved in, she was the one at the front desk who offered a lending hand and some great jokes to make my day that much more bright. And then, due to unforeseen circumstance, when I had to move out early, she was there to go over all my options and help me. Summer Creek Apartments is a cute, clean, and quiet apartment that I am sad to leave. I highly recommend this place to live, as everyone I came across who work there was absolutely awesome-possume (even if I did have my favorites).
I live in the summer creek apartments, never had a problem with any maintenance requests and the management is fantastic. Maintenance is always friendly and most, if not all, are fixed the same day I request it! The office staff is awesome and always friendly. Whenever I have packages delivered they notify me and if I can’t pick them up before the office closes sad they bring to my door, which is a huge perk!
Louise, the property manager has improved many things. She is lovely and wonderful to work with. Bad things: old pine trees need to be removed and grass replaced. Ravine behind Rockford road needs to be cleared of brush and garbage. Old pine trees are tilting and needles and dry, non existing-grass and old, dead timber is a fire waiting to happen.
