Increase in Divorce Post-COVID-19

It’s no surprise that we are seeing an increase in divorce post-COVID-19 stay-at-home restriction.  Being stuck together 24/7 for almost 3 months made folks realize that they don’t have shared goals & values and they don’t like being together for much time.

All marriages / relationships go through tough times, even marriages that look perfect to outsiders.  A positive relationship can survive anything that’s not one of the people greatly harming the other person or cheating.  My late-husband and I went through a lot during our 17 years of marriage before he died in 2009.  For example, I miscarried our first child, and he helped me through that emotionally tough time. It’s how you handle the tough times that defines you and determines whether your relationship will last!

It’s a blessing that the people who are unhappy and are divorcing now aren’t going to spend more years in a relationship that’s negative and won’t last, anyway! They can focus on improving themselves, raising their children, and possibly finding a new life partner!
