The recently released Minnesota state Senate report on the riots and destruction in the Twin Cities last May and June documents the complete failure of Gov. Walz’s leadership. These riots were the second most destructive in U.S. history, with only the Watts (Los Angeles) riots of 1992 being worse. Over $500 million in property damage (and three deaths) occurred, the Third Precinct was allowed to fall, Gov. Walz’s adult daughter gained access to confidential information on MN National Guard deployments which she then passed on to the rioters, and over 1,500 businesses were damaged. When the dust settled Walz and his administration opted to prosecute only 2% of those arrested.
According to the numerous public officials quoted in the report nearly all of this carnage could have been prevented had Gov. Walz acted properly. This report, “Review of Lawlessness and Government Responses to Minnesota’s 2020 Riots,” should be read by all Minnesotans.
Fast forward to the current crisis. By continuing to extend his “Emergency Powers” Gov. Walz implies he’s the only one capable of dealing with the COVID 19 crisis. As with the riots this spring, Gov. Walz is incapable of managing this crisis also. Businesses are closing, Minnesotans are fearful and daily COVID infections are higher than ever. It’s past time to remove the failed Democratic leadership from power in Minnesota and begin a return to sanity.

Rich enough, powerful enough …
Once upon time not long ago the United States stood for something, America was a hope and leader of the world. Donald Trump changed it all, we’re no longer a country our Founding Fathers would recognize. This president prefers a renewed civil war to a unity of states, prefers a hateful, divided America. Lie upon lie without consequence, an aversion to facts even in the face of a pandemic, above the law and the Constitution, he thinks he’s a king accountable to no one. At least there’s no pretense of moral leadership, but what’s worse, he’s teaching our kids that if you’re rich enough, powerful enough, you can get away with just about anything.
Is Trump’s America what you want for your children? If we’re still true to the values of our Founding Fathers, we the people must hold him accountable for his behavior and incompetence, no one else will.
