Need a new mask? Get one free Oct. 24 at St. Paul event

19October 2020

Residents needing a fresh mask can pick one up for free from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oct. 24 in the parking lot of the former Sears’ site, 358 Marion St. in St. Paul.

Ramsey County’s COVID-19 Racial Equity and Community Engagement Response Team will distribute free homemade masks through the “A Mask for Everyone” initiative.

Adult, youth and child sizes will be available on a first-come, first-served basis for Ramsey County residents only. Masks may also be reserved in advance through Oct. 20 at ramseycounty.us/AMaskforEveryone; reserved masks must be picked up Oct. 24. Requests are limited to a maximum of eight masks per household.

The event will be arranged to limit in-person contact in accordance with public health guidelines. Residents who drive up should remain in their vehicles. Residents who walk, bike or travel via other means will be asked to follow social distancing guidelines while on site.

The initiative was launched in August to ensure all individuals and families have access to masks to help slow the spread of COVID-19. The program prioritizes distributing reusable cloth masks to racially, ethnically and culturally diverse communities. Community organizations and small businesses can also request free masks through the program.
