Holiday gatherings may be smaller this year. And if that holiday ham or prime rib with all those sides seems too intimidating or just not worth the effort this year, luckily there are plenty of holiday helpers ready to take the reins.
With restaurants closed for dining in the past few weeks, restaurateurs and chefs have had plenty of time to come up with some creative, festive holiday takeout meal packages — generally for pickup at the restaurant a day or so before and then reheating at home later — for your crew.
In the east metro, here are some restaurants offering holiday meal spreads for takeout and what’s being offered. You may want to hurry if you have your heart set on ordering from a particular restaurant. Some of these deadlines are coming up fast and some of the packages are available only until sold out.

Christmas Take Home Dinners to go: Beef Bordelaise, cheddar au gratin potatoes, bacon Brussels sprouts, sage stuffing, holiday salad, dinner rolls and chocolate cream, pecan or apple pie. The multi-course meal comes with a jumbo shrimp cocktail starter, butternut squash and apple soup, smoked ham and roasted turkey with gravy, wild mushroom stuffing and cranberry chutney, sides, desserts (candy cane ice cream, pecan pie, sweet potato pie with bourbon caramel) and beverages (eggnog and wine or cocktail kit). Curbside Christmas Eve box includes house-made meatballs, spinach salad, smoked prime rib, stuffed parmesan jumbo shrimp scampi, gruyere mashers with caramelized onions, lobster mac n cheese and peppermint cheesecake or chocolate raspberry cobbler for dessert($150, serves 2; $300, serves 4). There’s also a Holiday Helper menu with a la carte items such as dessert and cocktail kits. Orders taken through Dec. 20.
